Calvin Klein- Modern Minimalism: Print & Concept Direction
Contract Project – Apparel Print & Concept Design
This contract assignment focused on redefining a modern print language for an established American fashion house known for its minimalist, sensual, and fluid design ethos. I was asked to envision a contemporary direction for three key print pillars, Floral, Geometric, and Abstract, translating them across retail and wholesale channels through a refined, art-driven lens.
My concept explored the intersection of art history and modern design, drawing from early 20th-century movements such as Art Deco, De Stijl, and Abstract Expressionism, while balancing softness, strength, and sensuality. The resulting framework celebrated timeless femininity and quiet power, expressed through painterly florals, sleek geometrics, and layered modern abstracts.
Each print story was developed with a focus on texture, balance, and emotion, merging heritage craftsmanship with modern restraint. Color palettes ranged from dusty pastels and mineral blues to earthy olives and neutrals, reflecting a minimalist yet evocative point of view that feels both classic and forward-looking.
This project demonstrates my ability to translate brand DNA into future-focused print direction, blending storytelling, artistic influence, and commercial application into a cohesive and elevated vision.
